Frequently Asked Questions
|

Why did you start Wet Nose Rescue? Because there are too many dogs
and puppies without homes and because of the constant need to find loving, caring
homes for dogs and puppies that are in overcrowded shelters, facing the
possibility of euthanization or dogs that are found wandering the streets or abused
by their owners.
Who runs Wet Nose Rescue? The rescue is run totally by volunteers who
want to help dogs and puppies find homes so they can live normal lives that dogs
and puppies deserve and Wet Nose depends totally on contributions from the
public. We always need food, leashes, collars and blankets.
Does Wet Noes Rescue have an actual shelter? No, we are a rescue
organization as as such depend upon the help of foster homes and foster care until
we find loving homes for the dogs.
What if I adopt from Wet Nose Rescue but things don't work out?
We will take the dog back, it is a requirement that that the dog be returned to Wet
Nose so we can find the dog a new home. The dog is not to be taken to another
shelter or the Humane Society in accordance with the agreement signed with Wet
Nose Rescue.
Will my dog be housebroken and listen to commands?
Remember, some of the dogs have probably spent most, if not all of their lives in a
shelter and they have gone through a lot. Some time will be needed to get them
adjusted to their new environment, so don't expect too much too soon.
How long does it take for my application to be approved?
As an all volunteer organization, we work as quickly as possible to process the
applications so we ask that you bear with us because we really try to go as quickly
as possible. The more accurate information from you as far as references always
helps.
How much is it to adopt a dog from Wet Nose?
For dogs over the age of 6 months, we ask for a $75 donation, along with a $50
deposit for spay/neuter, upon completion, with a vet certificate, the deposit will be
returned unless you wish to donate it.
Puppies under 6 months of age, $100 donation along with a $50 deposit for
spay/neuter, upon completion, with a vet certificate, the deposit will be returned
unless you wish to donate it to the rescue organization.
Any dog/puppy already spayed/neutered prior to adoption would require a $125
donation, proof will be provided to the adopting family.
